Matthias Koole (°21/12/1982) est actif en tant que guitariste en musique contemporaine écrite et improvisé. Il est membre fondateur du quartet de guitares électriques ZWERM et joue régulièrement avec des ensembles comme Champ d’Action et des groupes d’improvisation comme Collectief Reflexible et Spandau. En tant que musicien de chambre il joue en duo avec Kobe Van Cauwenberghe des pièces répertoire contemporains pour deux guitares (Lachenmann, Ferneyhough, Globokar etc), et aussi en duo avec flûtiste Katelijne Lanneau. En plus, il est membre du trio PARKOUR (avec harpiste Saara Rautio et Kobe Van Cauwenberghe).
En tant que guitariste free-lance il a aussi joué avec Ensemble Cairn (Paris), Ictus Ensemble (Bruxelles), United Instruments of Lucilin (Luxembourg) et l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Bruxelles. Il a joué en solo des pièces de Richard Barrett, Stefan Prins, Larry Polansky, Clinton McCallum, Joan Arnau Pamies, Cristian Morales-Ossio, Nico Sall, Mario Del Nunzio, Cristofer Elgh, Karlheinz Essl, Sérgio Ribeiro Lacerda. Matthias a obtenu le Kranichsteiner Stipendienpreis lors du Internationale Ferienkurse für Neue Musik 2010 à Darmstadt.

Matthias Koole (°21/12/1982) is active as a guitarist in written and improvised contemporary music. He is a founding member of the electric guitar quartet ZWERM and plays regurarly with ensembles such as Champ d’Action and improvisation groups Collectief Reflexible and Spandau. As a chamber musician he has a guitar duo with Kobe Van Cauwenberghe with whom he plays pieces of recent repertoire for two guitars (Lachenmann, Ferneyhough, Globokar etc), another duo with recorder player Katelijne Lanneau and is member of the trio PARKOUR (with harpist Saara Rautio and Kobe Van Cauwenberghe).
As a free-lance guitarist he has also played with Ensemble Cairn (Paris), Ictus Ensemble (Brussels), United Instruments of Lucilin (Luxembourg) and the Brussels Philharmonic. He has premiered pieces by Richard Barrett, Stefan Prins, Larry Polansky, Clinton McCallum, Joan Arnau Pamies, Cristian Morales-Ossio, Nico Sall, Mario Del Nunzio, Cristofer Elgh, Karlheinz Essl, Sérgio Ribeiro Lacerda. among others. Hij is mede-oprichter van het elektrische gitaarkwartet ZWERM en speelt regelmatig met ensembles als Champ d’Action improvisatiegroepen Collectief Reflexible en Spandau. Als kamermuzikant speelt hij met Kobe Van Cauwenberghe recente stukken voor twee gitaren (Lachenmann, Ferneyhough, Globokar enz), hij speelt ook duo met fluitiste Katelijne Lanneau en is lid van het trio PARKOUR (met harpistz Saara Rautio en Kobe Van Cauwenberghe).
Als free-lance gitarist speelde hij o.a. met Ensemble Cairn (Parijs), Ictus Ensemble (Brussel), United Instruments of Lucilin (Luxemburg) en het Brussels Filharmonisch Orkest. Hij speelde in première bij o.a. Richard Barrett, Stefan Prins, Larry Polansky, Clinton McCallum, Joan Arnau Pamies, Cristian Morales-Ossio, Nico Sall, Mario Del Nunzio, Cristofer Elgh, Karlheinz Essl, Sérgio Ribeiro Lacerda. Matthias kreeg de Kranichsteiner Stipendienpreis tijdens de Internationale Ferienkurse für Neue Musik 2010 in Darmstadt.
