Après avoir cherché le texte

During Chercher Le Texte, a conference held in Paris in October, an initiative of ELO (Electronic Literature Organisation), some of the ideas that are (latently) present in the workgroup of Algolit, were described and confirmed. This post is a subjective reading of several conferences I attended, meant as an invitation for discussions and exchanges. » Read the rest of this entry «

Languages come & go, but algorithms stand the test of time

» Read the rest of this entry «

http://lirecrirenumerique.wordpress.com/2013/07/08/redocumentation-jeudi-30-mai-2013-troisieme-journee-du-cycle/

» Read the rest of this entry «

Round up 4 all

May 3rd, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

Did it ever occur to you to wave at a surveillance camera? Or rather, at the person who is watching you at that moment in the control room? And how would it feel if that person would wave back and you would somehow be able to see or hear that?

By using surveillance cameras and a free motion tracking software the artists of !CoLAPseKoDe explore spaces in which innocent mouvements can have consequences. Visitors are invited to move between these spaces and by doing so, play with light, image and sound. For interested people there is also a workshop module on Thu and Fri (see below).

Players: Simon Yuill, Kirsty Stansfield, An Mertens, Pierre Marchand, Matthias Koole, Lot Jansen, Dorothé Depeauw

When: From 17 till 19th May at De Pianofabriek, Rue du Fort straat 35, 1060 Brussels

Round-up presents the results of !CoLAPseKoDe, a research process by Mangrove-Tentactile and Constant vzw/asbl, with the support of De Pianofabriek Kunstenwerkplaats and the Vlaamse Gemeenschapscommissie.
The performance is part of the Open House Festival.

Special: Workshop with Pierre Marchand & Dorothé Depeauw
on Thursday 17 and Friday 18 from 14 till 16h

Motion tracking is based on the analysis of differences between images in a video input. We’ll propose an exploration of how these differences are built in OBJSCRS, then trace new paths from the video input to the actual motion tracker. We’ll build visualizations out of this data structure, whether on screen or in any other possible form.

Voice & objects

In the framework of the CCA-program Creative Lab Kirsty Stansfield and me explore the concept of the “voice as object” and “object as voice”. The motion tracking software objscrs continues to mediate the development of concepts, methods and scores in which physical objects, performers and words are equal “players”. On the reading shelf is the philosophical essay ‘Irréductions’ by Bruno Latour. More documentation will be posted soon to the blog of the over all project !Co LAPse KoDe.

Le Souffle de l’Equinoxe

! Co LAPse KoDe presented ‘Le Jeu des Jeux’ at the festival of performance & new media Le Souffle de l’Equinoxe in Poitiers.
Le Jeu des jeux or The Game of Games is a game that is designed as an inexplicit manual. The idea worked well, the audience went actively on stage exploring the !Co LAPse KoDe universe and produced some new interventions. You find the scores of the game and a more detailed report here. Pictures of the show follow soon.
