The author Koen Peeters mentioned once during a workshop with Het Beschrijf that you best keep all versions you make of any fiction you write. After finishing my first novel ‘Tot Later’ I cleaned up my hard disc and made a comparative selection of the files I kept during the writing process.
I used the Open Office ‘Compare documents’-tool and exported every compared file as a pdf. Then I used pdfsam to split up each pdf in individual pages and finally ImageMagick converted every .pdf into .png so a slide show with 3357 images could be exposed.
